Repertory Intensive Performance Project

Drawing from the value of “performance as research” Vanessa pulls from her own touring experience (with group Modern Garage Movement, AKA “MGM” and others) to offer the opportunity to perform as much as possible. Together, the group will plan a short 3 day tour of the piece with as many as 3 performances in a day. We will perform in a variety of venues from: a studio theater, music club, garage, park or beach, emphasizing the value of performance as research. Venues in Western Mass, Coastal Maine or NYC will be explored, with a “premier” performance in Northampton.

This is an opportunity for both the contemporary performer/dancer and or choreographer/ student to have a more intimate experience of Anspaugh’s creative process and the rigorous experience of being a collaborating participant in a quickly constructed professional piece. Anspaugh works to facilitate a “micro intentional community” where artists come together and intimately share the gifts & challenges of meaning-making together.
